Harassment & Anti-Racism Policy

*Davis Academy is committed to fostering a learning and working environment free from all forms of harassment, discrimination, and racism. We uphold and align with the BC Human Rights Code and our obligations under the BC Sexual Violence and Misconduct Policy Act. 

 

Scope

 

This policy applies to all Davis Academy students, staff, faculty, contractors, and visitors, regardless of whether conduct occurs on-campus, at college-sponsored events, or via electronic communications.

 

Definitions

  • Harassment & Discrimination include unwelcome conduct or speech that targets a protected characteristic, including race, color, ancestry, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or age. 

  • Racist or oppressive behavior includes veiled or explicit acts that diminish or devalue individuals based on racial or cultural identity.

  • Sexual misconduct includes sexual assault, harassment, stalking, indecent exposure, or other non-consensual behaviors as defined by legislation. 

 

Reporting

 

If you believe you have been subjected to harassment or racism, you may:

 

Investigation Process

  • Reports will be taken seriously and investigated promptly and impartially.

  • The investigator will protect confidentiality to the extent possible while ensuring a fair resolution.

  • Interim measures may be implemented if necessary to ensure safety or fairness.

 

Protection from Retaliation

 

EduGlobal prohibits any retaliation against any individual who, in good faith, reports an incident or participates in an investigation.

 

Sexual Violence & Misconduct Clause

 

As required under BC’s Sexual Violence and Misconduct Policy Act, EduGlobal maintains a standalone sexual violence and misconduct policy. This includes procedures for prevention, reporting, response, and survivor supports. 

 

Review Cycle

 

EduGlobal’s harassment and anti‑racism policy will be reviewed at least once every three years, or sooner if legislative changes or institutional needs arise.
